Days Before Surgery

31 Days

It’s been 11 days since my last update!

I have felt a whirlwind of emotions and deep depression the last 11 days.

So I have been on the phone non stop trying to get in to see the cardiologist. My surgeons office finally got a referral in to a clinic 2 hours from us to see about getting them to clear me for surgery. I have an appointment April 8th by an absolute miracle. This was a relief as last Thursday there was talk about cancelling my surgery.

On Tuesday last week I ended up in the ER my back was just in more pain then I could handle. They took xray of the wrong section of my back and of course said there’s nothing wrong. So I explained over and over again that it wasn’t that section that I am having surgery on and at this point I just need something to help with the pain till I am able to get to surgery. They finally did xray on the right section of my back and still told me they didn’t see anything wrong but they would give me enough pain meds to get me through till surgery. I was prescribed 3 days of pain meds. That was a pretty useless 6 hours of sitting around.

On Wednesday I was on the phone most of day dealing with doctors. My littlest decided he was bored and decided to swallow a quarter. So back to the ER I went with him. Turns out he decided 3 quarters was just the right amount to swallow. We go back tomorrow to see if they have exited or if there will need to emergency surgery done for removal. This slowed me down a bit and realized that I haven’t been functioning in life as I should.

The rest of my lab work has been posted and I was contacted today to be told that my labs are all good accept I need to take supplement Vit D. The labs are also not all good but they failed to mention the other things that are there. I guess since they are regularly off they don’t think they are issue. But my White Blood Cell count and several other testing factors for it are very high. Nobody has ever been able to tell me the reason behind this but I have been doing lots of research and finding that it could just be my spinal issues are causing this. It has come down significantly since I have been 100% gluten free for my celiac disease. But its still way higher than what they consider normal.

Today the nurse from my surgeons office called to see if I had been able to set up Cardiology here locally. I told her that I left two messages last week but nobody had called yet. I also told her that I had the pre anesthesia appointment and hopefully they will clear me. She said she was going to still call here to see what the hold up is as they are concerned I need to have a regular cardiologist locally for after surgery. I did call them a little while later and they to said we can go ahead schedule as they just had a cancellation. I have an appointment this Thursday to see if they are able to clear me for surgery and tell me what is next for me and my heart journey. I have kept the appointment on the 8th to be sure that I can get fully cleared for surgery.

I was also able to get an appointment this Friday to see my original primary care doctor. I am supposed to be establishing next week with another. I am hoping Friday she can at least get me pain meds and steroids to get me through to surgery. I don’t want them but at this point I can’t do much before I am just in so much pain I feel physically ill.

I will do a post hopefully tomorrow more about how I am doing mentally and spiritually!

Love you ~ Kindy Lynn
